About University of Westminster
Being one of the Top 15 popular UK universities internationally, University of Westminster was established in 1992, following the Further and Higher Education Act 1992. Nevertheless, its initial roots go back to 1838, in the name of Royal Polytechnic Institution, which was the first of its kind in Britain. The contemporary location of the University of Westminster is in the Regent Street of London, with 5 other campuses; Cavendish, Gt. Portland St, Marylebone, Lt Titchfield St and Harrow.
The University of Westminster provides with many undergraduate and postgraduate courses through 7 Schools and Departments which cover Law, Electronics, Business, Social Sciences, Architecture, Media and Social Sciences. This university is famous for its research. Further, according to the Research Assessment Exercise (RAE) Media, Communications and Cultural research was placed 2nd while Art and Design research was placed 6th nationally.
Students are provided with in campus accommodation, however a place is not guaranteed due to the great demand. The university at the same time gives advice on finding accommodation elsewhere close to the university.
The Student Union of the University of Westminster provides a wide array of activities to ensure that the students would have a memorable and exciting time during their university life. They operate a social venue in Marylebone, a bar and a night club located in the Harrow campus. It also organizes different extracurricular, sports (swimming, boxing, cycling and waterloo) and fun activities in addition to these relaxing activities.
