About Roehampton University
Roehampton University is one of the most modern universities in UK, located in Roehampton Lane, a small friendly town in London. Its history runs back to 1841 where the oldest constituent college was established. The Roehampton University, most commonly known as the RU, was established in 1975, when four highly recognized 19th century training colleges; Digby Stuart College, Froebel College, Southlands College and Whitelands College formed a federation. For the first 10 years, RU's courses were validated by the University of London, however in 1984, RU broke off the partnership. They then established links with the University of Surrey. However in 2004, following its successful application for an Independent University title, the name was changed from University of Surrey Roehampton to Roehampton University.
This university boasts of a wide range of knowledge of humanities, social sciences, arts and human life sciences that ensures fruitful futures of students, who pursue these courses. As students from more than 110 countries are being enrolled in the RU, a study-life full of highly diverse cultural experiences and fun is said to be guaranteed.
The university has its own accommodation provisions and also is equipped with all the necessary facilities for a comfortable stay, including special provisions for students with disabilities.
The Roehampton University Students' Union, is doing a good job in making the study life for the RU students a quite exhilarating and less stressed one. There are clubs and societies, welfare and communication, counselling, sports, entertainment and etc. managed by the RUSU to ensure a balance every aspect of study life!
