Kingston University
About Kingston University
Kingston University is located in South west London, and was previously a polytechnic but graduated to University status in 1992.
The campus recently underwent a multi-million pound redevelopment project in 1997 thus new modern buildings and numerous car parks and shuttles as well as resource centres have been added to the facilities available at the University.
The university caters to a wide range of disciplines. The school of arts and Social Sciences offers a flexible modular degree for undergraduates, so that they will be able to study subjects from different schools, ranging from drama, to criminology to media and so forth. The university however is more known for its business and law programs at the Kingston University Business School and Kingston Law School. The Business Management program at the school is credited as one of the best in the UK. Their Engineering programs are also highly sought after, with much research interest in the fields of computing and mathematics.
The school also has degrees in the medical science and other sciences such as geography, biology, pharmacology and sports science. The school of Earth Sciences in particular has a tradition of exceptional tutoring. The University has pioneered many geological degrees.
The KUSU is an active student union housed on the Penrhyn Road, and it supports and helps students advance their learning experience at KUSU. Recently the borough of Kingston has decided to start work on a new theater for the University and since its completion it has proved to be an asset to the community.
