Greenwich has always been associated with sea and navigation, one reason as to why this museum is established here. These buildings include the Queens House which was inscribed as the UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997 and the Royal Observatory. The National Maritime Museum holds vital pieces of Britain history, housing more than 2 million items. Some main pieces are the maritime art, ship models and plans, scientific and navigational instruments, British Portraits etc., along with a library of important books.
Entrance is free except for the planetarium and is opened from 10.00-17.00 throughout the week. This sure would be a treat to all the visitors, as it tells a whole story of the world and UK history.
