About Wallace Collection
The Wallace Collection is a museum in a London townhouse. This is a national museum that holds exclusive art from the 18th and 19th centuries, especially French, medieval and Renaissance. The speciality in this Wallace Collection is that it is deemed to be the best French Art anyone would ever come across outside France.
This collection houses art collected by the first four Marquesses of Hertford and Sir Richard Wallace, the son of the 4th Marquess. It is housed in their very own townhouse, which was bestowed to the nation by Lady Wallace in 1897 along with the exclusive collection of art! It consists of unique paintings, furniture, gold boxes, porcelain, bronze, enamel, maiolica and glass works. They also take pride in holding a fine array of royal armour and arms!
The museum has free admission and is open daily from 10.00 am to 5.00 pm. It is closed only for Christmas (24th to 26th) and is open on every other public holiday.
A visit to this unique art gallery would definitely pay off good for everyone!
